Safe 'N Sound is a nonprofit charity based in Owen Sound. We support people at risk of or experiencing homelessness by offering free essentials, advocacy, and a welcoming community space.

We’re open every day from 9 AM to 3 PM—including holidays. Please visit us at 310 8th St East, Owen Sound, ON.

Nope! We’re fully independent—no affiliation with other nonprofits, governments, or networks. We’re a grassroots charity.

Are you a shelter, safe consumption site, or hospital?

No—we’re not a shelter, hospital, or safe injection/consumption site. But from November 1st to April 30th, we run a Winter Warming program that keeps our space open 24/7 so people can stay safe and warm during the harsh winter months.

What services do you offer?

All services are free. We offer food, showers, laundry, hygiene supplies, clothing, first aid, computer access, phones, court support, and help connecting to other agencies. We also have 4 transitional housing units. Find out more in the services section of our website.

Do you offer seasonal help?

Yes! We’re open every holiday and offer winter gear, tents, summer supplies, and special holiday meals.

Do I need ID or an appointment?

No ID, no forms, no questions—just come in, grab a coffee, and settle in. Everyone is welcome.

Anyone can. Our space is open to all, no matter their background or housing status.
