Rescheduled: The Truth is in the Evidence: Best Practices to Ending Chronic Homelessness
When: Monday, Jan. 12, 6:30–8:30 pm
Where: Owen Sound & North Grey Union Public Library, Auditorium, 824 1st Ave W, Owen Sound, ON

Bad weather forced us to cancel the original evening session for the public, while the afternoon professional session went ahead as planned. We’re opening this rescheduled event to everyone — members of the public and professionals who couldn’t make the earlier session. Please join us to learn, connect, and take collective action.
Presenter: Caitlin Currie (she/her)
Caitlin is the County’s Homelessness Response Supervisor. Her presentation is powerful, practical, and rooted in evidence. As someone who has seen it, we can promise there is so much to learn and discuss — from Coordinated Access and prioritizing support, to what it takes to move from homelessness to stable, long-term housing.
Why attend?
- Understand the strategies that end chronic homelessness
- Hear local and national data presented clearly and compassionately
- Explore how our community can strengthen collaboration and improve outcomes

All are welcome. Bring your curiosity, your compassion, and your questions. Please share this event to help spread the word.

CNOY 2026!
Walk with us on the Coldest Night of the Year
On Saturday, February 28, 2026, Safe ’N Sound Grey Bruce is once again taking part in the Coldest Night of the Year (CNOY) in Owen Sound - a family-friendly winter walk that raises funds for people in our community who are facing hurt, hunger, and homelessness.
Coldest Night of the Year 2026 Canada
Every dollar raised helps keep our doors open so people can access basics like food, clothing, showers, laundry, hygiene supplies, as well as advocacy, referrals, and a warm, welcoming space when they need it most.
Build your team. Bundle up. Make a difference.
We’re looking for teams and walkers to join us and turn a cold winter night into warmth and hope for our neighbours.
Whether you’re a family, workplace, faith group, club, or a few friends who care, you can:
- Form a team and invite others to walk and fundraise with you
- Join an existing team if you’d rather not captain your own
- Walk as an individual and still make a big impact
Walkers can choose from 2 km or 5 km routes starting and finishing at the Owen Sound Farmers’ Market, with check-in beginning at 4:00 p.m. on event day.

Local businesses: walk with us as sponsors
If your business wants to stand visibly alongside people in our community who are struggling, CNOY is a powerful way to do it. Sponsors are recognized through event materials and online, including on the official CNOY Owen Sound page, where community sponsors are highlighted.
Businesses wanting to be sponsors can contact Wren by emailing fundraising@safensoundgreybruce.ca
Bundle up, bring your heart, and help us show that no one in Grey Bruce has to face the cold - or their challenges - alone.
